Vino Valduero 6 Años 2015

A careful selection of grapes, exclusively from vines over 30 years old, gives this wine an extraordinary concentration of aromas and tannins. 

Valduero is a family winery and one of the first to be founded under DO Ribera del Duero. It was created by Gregorio García Álvarez in 1984 in the small Burgos town of Gumiel de Mercado, located 16km northwest of Aranda de Duero, in the heart of Ribera del Duero. At that time, there were only half a dozen bottling wineries in the region, and despite being a wine-growing area with a long tradition accredited among connoisseurs for its quality, it was an area unknown to the general public.

Situated in a "Chateu" style, surrounding the winery, Valduero has 200 hectares of its own vineyards planted in goblet form. Through strict pruning, very low yields are achieved in terms of the quantity of grapes per vine, thus achieving exceptional quality.

A careful selection of grapes, exclusively from vines over 30 years old, gives this wine an extraordinary concentration of aromas and tannins. The process of a handmade and laborious harvest in boxes, allows us to provide the grape in perfect condition and with all its aromas. The ageing process, during 36 months in oak barrels from 4 different origins, takes place in the quietness of our cave with traditional racking at 12ºC and 85% humidity. It ends with another 36 months of ageing in the bottle.

The ideal serving temperature is between 18º and 19º. The perfect companion for game, lamb and cured cheeses.
