More information Monistrol Brut Nature Reserva Cava - Champagne
For more than a century, Monistrol has been producing its cavas in a completely artisanal way, following the traditional method, just like Champagne.
A small village in the heart of the Penedès region grew up around its vineyards. Its vineyards cover an area of around 450 hectares in a magnificent location to obtain grapes of the highest quality.
Different types of grapes are grown on the estate, Parellada and Merlot are harvested at the top, Chardonnay is grown near the old church of San Benet for the best Masía Monistrol wine. The xarel.lo, a short-cycle variety, is planted closest to the winery, while the macabeo vines are distributed in different areas of Masía de Monistrol.
The Masía winery has adapted its crops to modern technology, making it a self-sufficient estate that produces cavas and wines using the best of traditional techniques.
Named after the Marquis of Monistrol, an autochthonous nobleman from the 14th century, Monistrol was an ancient Cistercian monastery built at the beginning of the Middle Ages. Today it is a modern winery where we produce renowned Cavas and still wines.
