Akashi White Oak Red Blended is a Japanese blended whisky.
It is known that Japanese regulations for whiskies destined for the domestic market are somewhat more permissive than those in Europe. However, this does not apply to the export versions, which contain only malt and grain.
Akashi Red is produced at the Eigashima (also known as White Oak) distillery, founded in 1888.
It is a rather smoky, but light and fruity flavoured whisky, with notes of peach, almonds and grapes, a great choice for relaxing on a busy afternoon at work.
