Descripción ampliada Vino Vivanco Reserva 2019

Knowledge of an art inherited by family tradition that is reflected in a special love for wine.

In 1915, in the traditional winery district of Alberite, La Rioja, Pedro Vivanco González began to make wines from his own vineyards. His son Santiago Vivanco and his wife, Felisa Paracuellos, continued the family business by moving to Logroño and expanding the sale of their wines to neighbouring provinces. At the end of the 1960s, Pedro Vivanco Paracuellos, after his oenological training and being a great connoisseur of the different areas of La Rioja, its soils and vineyards, took over the family business and intensively promoted new vineyard plantations and the marketing of its wines, both nationally and internationally.

The careful selection of grapes from each vineyard, the control of their individualized fermentation and a long maceration, applying the most modern oenological technology, imply the knowledge of an art inherited by family tradition that is reflected in a special love for wine.

In the half-light of the winery, in French and American oak vats and barrels, only the wine of the best vintages rests, acquiring the nuances of wood and highlighting those that are typical of wine. Once it has reached its best, it is bottled and remains in dormancy until it is optimally refined and rounded.

The result is a wine with an authentic expression of the character of the different estates, a quality that makes it inimitably personal, complex and elegant in its sensations.

The family's pioneering winemaking spirit is reflected not only in its wines, but also in its experimentation and research into different cultivation and winemaking methods, the use of minority varieties and ageing in oak from various sources.

Consistent with his vocation for research and dissemination of wine culture, Rafael Vivanco presents his new wines DINASTÍA VIVANCO RESERVA 1998 and DINASTÍA VIVANCO CRIANZA 2002, in a bottle of his own design, based on an original model from the 18th century, belonging to the visitable collections of the Museum of Wine Culture.

The design has been registered and patented as an industrial model and is characterised by a medium height, slightly truncated cone bottle body, with a long, fine neck that ends in an outstanding neck that reinforces the mouth and also acts as a dropper.

The label and back label are made of special self-adhesive paper, in which not only the aesthetics of the design and the representation of the most emblematic symbols of the winery have been turned over, but also the aim has been to inform the consumer of all the attributes that accompany this wine: the art of winemaking, enjoyment of the senses and wine culture. The Braille system has been applied to the labelling in order to make it more accessible to the blind.

Dinastia Vivanco Reserve

Ageing: The wine is aged for 24 months in new French and American oak barrels, with regular rackings every 6 months, and more than two years of refinement between French oak and bottle rack.
