Bodegas Murviedro makes Sericis Cepas Viejas Monastrell in Alicante.
Sericis means silky in Latin and honours the old Silk House of Requena for its name and its smooth mouthfeel.
Winemaking
Harvested by hand. Destemming and gentle crushing of the grapes. Pre-fermentative maceration at low temperature for 3-4 days, addition of selected yeasts controlling the fermentation at 26 °C maximum temperature.
Devatting after 21 days maceration. Aged for a minimum of 14 months in new French oak barrels.
