In 1985, Cointreau’s Master Distiller journeys to Brazil in search of a specific variety of orange to create a new recipe. On this trip, he discovers an incredible fruit: the maracuja or passion fruit. Its originality and exceptional flavours overshadow everything else. Back in France, the country’s most precious gift inspires him to create a unique product: Passoa, a passion fruit-flavored liqueur.

So, with its fruity flavours and flamboyant colour, this original recipe has stood out for the past 30 years. And who could forget the legendary and mysterious, deep-black bottle?
