More information Naked Grouse Blended Malt Whisky
The Naked Malt enriches the aromas of Scotland's favourite whisky with a maturation process in sun-dried sherry casks.
Convention says that blended malts should be matured in pre-used bourbon casks. But where's the fun in following convention?
Instead, extra mature their unique blend of the world's finest malt whiskies in first-fill sherry casks. They call them naked casks, because they have never held whisky before.
This liberating leap into the unknown not only worked, but changed the possibilities of enjoying whisky forever.
The influence of the quality of the sherry casks creates a deep reddish appearance and an aroma that combines black cherry, cocoa, and oak.
The taste experience is sublimely smooth, with the brand's signature dried fruits evolving into cinnamon stick and nutmeg. The final sweetness is rich dark chocolate with spice, and orange on the finish.
The chosen ones
Naked Malt is made with The Macallan and Highland Park whiskies.
The naked casks
They sniff, taste and basically interrogate thousands of casks to find the ones that have the strength of character for our whisky. These casks have never held whisky before - naked casks, they call them.
Extra-Maturation
Your exclusive blend is matured in these Naked sherry casks for a minimum of six months. This is enough time for the Oloroso to add a layer of rich, fruity flavour that makes Naked stand out from the crowd.
