In the heart of the Ribera del Duero, Matarromera Winery has its half-underground buildings on the northern slope of the Duero Valley, with beautiful views that dominate the entire valley, in the municipality of Valbuena de Duero, in Valladolid.
It has a magnificent technology for the production of red wines of the highest quality. It has temperature control and the tanks and equipment are made of stainless steel, its production capacity is 650,000 liters.
Matarromera Crianza (D.O. Ribera del Duero) is the flagship of Matarromera Winery. It is the tangible proof of the balance between fruit and wood that so characterizes the winery. A wine made from Tempranillo grapes that is aged in American and French oak barrels for 12 months in rooms with controlled humidity and dim lighting. After this ageing process, the wine goes into the bottle where it is finished polishing until it is ready to leave the winery.
Clean and bright. Deep cherry colour with purple glints. On the nose it is very complex. Excellent harmony: strawberry, blackberry and figs; some hints of milky aromas; the ageing results in a clean and new wood with toast, coffee, vanilla, leather and cocoa aromas. On the palate, powerful, extraordinary backbone and elegant. Sweet polished tannins perfectly balanced with spicy and fruity flavours. Smooth and lingering finish.
