Sourced from old vines planted in the 60s and cultivated in the village of La Canyada (Alicante), in sandy soils that produce fine and elegant wines.
Luis XIV Ánforas is a wine that recalls the ancient wines of Alicante, with a blend of native grape varieties that have traditionally been grown in the area. Made with Monastrell and complemented with 30% Uva Arcos, a minor red grape variety found only in the south of Valencia, and 10% Bonicaire, another grape from the same region and equally rare today, though in the past it was used for making bulk wine despite its quality.
Its production process includes maturation for 4 months in ceramic amphorae, made of clay from Villarobledo baked in old wood-fired ovens.
Due to its delicacy, it is a very suitable wine for various dishes. Especially for tapas (fried fish, potato salad) and rice dishes (paella, arròs al forn, rice with rabbit and snails, arròs a banda, fish stew...).
Bright ruby color with violet hues.
On the nose, it is very intense and fresh, conveying all the varietal authenticity of Monastrell, Arcos, and Bonicaire.
On the palate, the purity of the fresh fruit stands out, with a light, velvety, smooth, and persistent flow. It is a medium-bodied wine with very fine tannins.
