Whisky Macallan Edition No.4

The Macallan Edition No.4 is the latest release in this innovative annual Series. Like preceding releases, Edition No.4 continues the exploration into our approach to whisky making, and exposing the detail of its creation. Edition No.4 is developed under the guidance of our Master Distiller, Nick Savage. With Edition No.4, as with previous Editions, it is transparency which prevails as we reveal the specific role of oak casks in the creation of The Macallan. Each cask imparts its own influence to the whisky, building character and depth and resulting in a multi-sensory experience of taste and aroma. The Macallan Edition No.4 exposed the structure of the whisky, drawing parallel on how the Macallan new distillery is constructed. This limited edition whisky has been shaped by the use of exceptional oak casks, which are the single greatest contributor to the outstanding quality, natural colours and distinctive aromas and flavours of The Macallan. The Master Distiller has handpicked casks to reflect a modern flavor profile while staying true to The Macallan sherry-seasoned oak casks maturation. This is our celebration of the whisky making heritage as we enter an exciting new future.
