More information Grant's 1 Liter Whisky
Grant's is made in three different types of wood: Virgin Oak, American Oak and Bourbon.
William Grant, was born in 1839. When he started working in the distillery business as a bookkeeper in 1866 he could scarce have imagined that his own branded whisky would become a worldwide business. Or that it would still be wholly owned by his family five generations later.
Grant’s Family Reserve is one of the world’s best loved Scotch whiskies and enjoyed in over 180 countries.
GRANTS
First created by William Grant in 1898, the blend is today, five generations later, entrusted to Grant’s Master Blender, Brian Kinsman.
Brian skilfully blends around 25 of the finest single malt and grain Scotch whiskies to make Grant’s Family Reserve. The basis for the blend is our widely acclaimed Girvan grain whisky. Vacuum distilled at a lower temperature to make it a lighter and more delicate spirit, it is then aged in oak to give it a deeper, sweeter, soft fruit flavour, creating the perfect foundation.
Many whiskies take their flavour from just one cask, but we mature Grant’s Triple Wood in three different types of wood: Virgin Oak cask provides spicy robustness, American Oak lends subtle vanilla smoothness and Bourbon refill offers brown sugar sweetness, resulting in a smoother, richer, mellower taste.
