Descripción ampliada Vino Moselland Riesling trocken (Alemania) VBlanco

In the 19th century many individual growers in the region joined together out of economic necessity to form small wine-growing cooperatives: they aimed to work more efficiently by joining forces. As a result of these mergers, three major sub-regional cooperatives had been founded by 1960:

- Gebietswinzergenossenschaft des Kreises Cochem in Ernst

- Winzergenossenschaft Mittelmosel in Wehlen

- Saar-Winzerverein in Wiltingen

In 1969 these cooperatives merged with Hauptkellerei Koblenz to form the largest wine-growing cooperative in the state of Rheinland-Pfalz. The result was the creation of Moselland located in Bernkastel Kues. For more than a quarter of a century the name Moselland has guaranteed consistent high quality. As a result, in 2000 members of the Nahe wine-growing cooperative decided to join this successful company.

The Mosel is the fifth largest winegrowing region in Germany. Riesling, the queen of grape varieties, rules supreme in the Mosel Valley. Nearly 6,000 hectares of Riesling are grown here; more than anywhere else. The combination of vine, microclimate and soil produces, over a lengthy ripening period, unique and fragrant wines. The slate soil retains heat from the sun during the day and gives it back to the vine at night. The roots of the vines penetrate deep into the ground to find water and minerals. During its long ripening period (often until as late as November), the Riesling vine collects natural sugar, valuable minerals and vitamins. The winemaker's skill is to maximise nature's potential.
