Wine La Atalaya del Camino 2023

La Atalaya del Camino is a red wine with a lot of colour, intense and fleshy, but at the same time with a certain freshness and complexity.

In the border terrain where the Levantine coast is left behind and the horizontality of La Mancha is faced, the clusters of Garnacha Tintorera and Monastrell thrive. As if by enchantment, the old vines seem to love these low-fertility limestone soils, which suffer from scarce rainfall. Located at more than 700 metres above sea level, they produce concentrated fruits that give a burst of tones, flavours and fragrances.

Ancient battles, and even more old hunts that were engraved in caves, resound through its rocky areas. Its vines maintain the strength of centuries. New methods have achieved combinations with the freshness of fruit and flowers, but the complexity of their blend.

Over the predominance of Garnacha Tintorera and its purplish pulp, the sweetness and strength of the Monastrell is noticeable in the wines of the winery that combines them in its core.

La Atalaya del Camino

The Garnacha, Tintorera and Monastrell grapes come from vineyards in the Almansa area between 700 and 1,000 metres above sea level. The grapes are fermented separately, obtaining a wine of great complexity after ageing in French oak barrels.

Vinification

Maceration-fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Once the maceration-fermentation process is complete, the wine is aged in French oak barrels.

Recommended Food Pairing

Ideal with rice dishes with game and honeyed meat, stewed vegetables, mushrooms, game and poultry, casseroles, fish and seafood in sauce, smoked foods, cured and blue cheeses, grilled and barbecued white and red meats.
