Whisky Hibiki Blossom Harmony 2022

Hibiki Blossom Harmony 2022 is the annual limited edition of 2022.

Flowers have always been a cause for celebration in Japan, marking both the beginning and the end of our traditional year. There are as many farewells as there are greetings, inspiring us to appreciate life as it blossoms. Gathering around Sakura trees in bloom brings us closer to our loved ones.

Hibiki Blossom Harmony captures this joyful intention. A rare selection of whiskies finished in Sakura wood casks has been specially blended with various malt and grain whiskies, aged over many seasons, to create this particular Hibiki. The result is a Hibiki produced to remind us how precious life can be. To share it with those who make us flourish.

Inspired by Sakura

House of Suntory has been exploring and experimenting with different types of wood for many years. The Sakura barrel, in particular, was one that intrigued Fifth Generation's Head Blender Shinji Fukuyo.

"I have been mesmerized by the Sakura barrel for quite a few years now. Not only because of its symbolism, but also because of its distinctive aroma and subtly floral and spicy taste. Many experiments have been done with malt and grain whisky components, but, as in any relationship, the outcome cannot be calculated. What we did discover was that there was a special alchemy between the grain whiskies and the Sakura cask. It is this special relationship - the harmony - that inspired me to make this blend." - Shinji Fukuyo
