Absolut vodka joins forces with Ricardo Cavolo to celebrate its annual edition of Absolut Pride 2022.
In June 2020, Absolut Vodka collaborated with illustrator Ricardo Cavolo to decorate the Chueca neighbourhood of Madrid for Pride Day, a year that coincided with the end of the forties and whose celebration was only virtual.

A very personal style
His drawings are in naïf style and are characterised by a large number of figures and compositional elements.
He uses very bright colours and his work is full of symbolism and codes.
When he saw the visual impact produced by those illustrations of an aggressive and direct character, he decided to continue using it for his future works, as this, according to the illustrator, was the best way to clearly convey his messages.
Vindicative messages in which he speaks of inclusion, diversity, equality. Values that, as you can see, fit perfectly with Absolut Vodka.
A world without sexual genders, forgotten wars, ballasts of society, stories of battered minorities ...
All that (and many other things) hide behind the wonderful and unique characters with several eyes, hearts, and flames of fire from the illustrations of Ricardo Cavolo; the artist who has managed to fulfill the dream to devote himself to what he likes most, to illustrate his dreams of a better world… a colourful world.

He has a passion for what he does. He is inspired by everything around him. What moves him most lately to do his projects is the socio-geopolitical situation of the world.
We are struck by his characters with several pairs of eyes… Although this is not always the case, normally "‘ they have more than two as a signal to the viewer to realize that those portrayed are not normal or standard people, they are special. “
In the same way that Absolut, he is also convinced that art has the enormous capacity to transform us all at an individual level.
It crosses and unleashes our emotions, moves us and worries us, fills us with doubts and makes us dream, allows us to imagine what it feels like not to be ourselves, what it is to live in another skin, what it feels like to be someone or something else , reducing us to mere shadows or lighting us like torches.
And in that sense, it manages to break our barriers to overcome us, to always go beyond ourselves and our limits….Because art makes us all different… as all the characters of his design.
Absolut Pride 2022
Absolut asked Ricardo Cavolo to design this year's limited edition, presented in a wrap style paper that wraps the original Absolut bottle.
In this work Cavolo claims the differences in society and gives visibility to all people regardless of their differences. People with several eyes, hearts and flames of fire, tattooed people. You will realise that all these characters are not normal people, they are special.
