More information The Glencairn Glass Whisky
The Glencairn Glass is the perfect glass for whisky drinkers.
Raymond Davidson, the founder of Glencairn Crystal, set out to solve a problem: finding the perfect glass for whisky enthusiasts.
He developed a glass similar to the sherry tasting glass (or Copita) that allowed users to appreciate the "nose" and "palate" of the whisky while being functional and robust enough for the hospitality industry.
Eventually, the glass was presented to Master Blenders in the Scotch whisky industry. With their guidance and expertise, the glass evolved. Its size and shape were refined to accommodate a 3.5 cl measure of whisky and the optimal proportion of water, maintaining the perfect liquid-to-water ratio to develop aromas.
Color: The bowl-shaped crystal allows a full appreciation of the whisky's color. Nose: The narrowing of the glass's mouth captures and focuses the aroma. Body: Its unique and patented shape is perfect for admiring the whisky's body and legs. Hand Feel: Designed to fit comfortably in the hand, allowing the whisky to evolve over time. Additionally, its special shape prevents the whisky from being warmed by the hand while holding the glass.
