In 2010, after having dedicated the last twenty years to the recovery and maintenance of its vineyards and after a lifetime dedicated to this fascinating world, Bodegas y Viñedos Merayo was born. The experience of Pedro Merayo, founder of the winery, in the wine sector and his knowledge and love for El Bierzo have culminated in the reality of this project.
The Merayo family has always maintained an important link with the world of wine, owning one of the most important wineries in the area for decades. However, at the end of the 80s, Pedro Merayo decided to take a break from winemaking and concentrate his efforts on the care and maintenance of the family vineyards.
After the great change developed by the appearance of new wineries and the modernisation of some of the existing ones at the end of the 90s, together with the development of the wines produced in Bierzo with great acceptance both in the national and international market, the family decided in 2010 to recover its roots and resume the winemaking activity in the winery located in the family property of Finca Miralmonte, showing a strong commitment to the production of high quality wines with native varieties.
The winery
The winery is located in the family property of Finca Miralmonte, in an area of 10 hectares where all kinds of activities related to the world of wine are carried out with the intention of bringing the knowledge of wine and the environment of Bierzo closer to anyone who wants to access it.
The building houses the winemaking and ageing rooms and has comfortable and modern facilities, incorporating all the necessary technology to obtain the best wines, while maintaining the principles of a humble winery and without losing its own identity and the family character of the project.
The winemaking room is equipped with stainless steel tanks of different capacities and with a maximum capacity of 200,000 kg of production per harvest. All of them are duly equipped with automatic refrigeration systems, which allow us to control the vinification processes in the optimum temperature ranges to obtain our wines.

Tasting Notes
Pale yellow, clean and bright.
Intense on the nose. Notes of green apple, stone fruit, hints of citrus and fennel. Mineral sensations envelop the wine and give it great complexity.
Round and voluminous on the palate, but without ever losing the sensation of freshness. Citric sensations, green apple and minerality. The work on the lees appears in the mouth, enveloping the wine and giving a fatty sensation, with a slight sweetness and overall harmony.
