Hibiki Japanese Harmony Dressed by Historic Kimono House Chiso

Hibiki Japanese Harmony Chiso 2026 is a limited edition of the renowned Japanese whisky Hibiki Japanese Harmony, created in collaboration with Chiso, the historic Kyoto kimono house founded in 1555. What makes this release distinctive is not a new whisky, but its special bottle and presentation, decorated with floral motifs inspired by Japanese textile art.

Inside is the familiar Hibiki Japanese Harmony, Suntory's blend of malt and grain whiskies from Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita. The Chiso 2026 edition also retains its 43% ABV and 70 cl format. It is therefore particularly suited to collectors, gifting and those who already know Japanese Harmony and are looking for one of its special presentations.

A Collaboration Between Hibiki and Chiso

The edition forms part of the 2026 collaboration between Hibiki and Chiso, a Kyoto house dedicated to kimono making since the 16th century and renowned for its work with traditional techniques such as Kyo-Yuzen dyeing. The project draws a parallel between two Japanese disciplines based on the harmonious combination of multiple elements: whisky blending and the artistic creation of a kimono.

This collaboration is linked to Hibiki's international The Masterpiece of Japanese Artistry campaign, unveiled in 2026. The project brings together whisky, nature and Japanese craftsmanship, with Anna Sawai serving as Hibiki's first global ambassador.

With Hibiki Japanese Harmony Chiso 2026, this relationship is expressed directly through the bottle. Chiso uses motifs from its artistic tradition to transform Hibiki's familiar design without changing the whisky inside.

Sakura, Tachibana and Flowers Across Hibiki's 24 Facets

The design combines Sakura cherry blossoms, tachibana and other seasonal floral motifs that surround the bottle. The composition evokes concepts such as happiness, longevity and the passing of the seasons, elements closely associated with traditional Japanese decorative language.

The decoration also makes use of a fundamental feature of the Hibiki bottle: its 24 facets, conceived as a reference to the 24 seasonal periods of the traditional Japanese calendar. The flowers extend across these different faces, changing visually depending on the angle, the light and the amber hue of the whisky itself.

The presentation retains other recognisable elements of Japanese Harmony, including its Japanese washi paper label and distinctive faceted bottle. Chiso's contribution therefore adds a new artistic layer to packaging that was already closely connected with Japanese culture.

The Same Hibiki Japanese Harmony in a Special 2026 Edition

It is important to distinguish this release from other limited Hibiki editions that do incorporate changes to the whisky itself. Published information about the Chiso collaboration identifies this bottle as a special design edition of Hibiki Japanese Harmony; it does not indicate a new recipe, a different age statement or exclusive maturation for this version.

Inside, therefore, is the familiar Japanese Harmony, a Japanese blended whisky created by combining malt and grain whiskies from Suntory's three distilleries: Yamazaki, Hakushu and Chita

This is particularly relevant when choosing between this bottle and the regular presentation. If your main aim is simply to enjoy the whisky, at Licorea you can also find Hibiki Japanese Harmony in its standard presentation. The Chiso 2026 edition makes particular sense when the presentation, artistic collaboration and limited-edition nature of the release are valued alongside the whisky itself.

A Bottle Designed with Hibiki Collectors in Mind

Hibiki Japanese Harmony Chiso 2026 continues the tradition of using Japanese Harmony as the basis for specially designed bottles. Previous years have seen presentations inspired by different aspects of Japanese culture and the seasons; the 2026 edition stands apart through its direct collaboration with Chiso.

For collectors, both the bottle and its outer presentation form part of the identity of this release. They should be kept away from direct light and protected from rubbing or damage to the decoration, particularly when the appeal of the edition lies precisely in its design.

If you are primarily looking for the whisky to enjoy regularly, you can choose Hibiki Japanese Harmony in its standard presentation. If you also appreciate Japanese artistic editions, collectable releases or are looking for a particularly refined bottle as a gift, the collaboration with Chiso is what clearly distinguishes the 2026 edition.
