Glenfarclas 9 Years Oloroso Sherry Cask is aged exclusively in Oloroso barrels.

Glenfarclas is renowned for its expertise in using sherry casks for maturing its whisky. For this version, they have chosen barrels that have contained Oloroso sherry wine and allowed their whisky to rest for 9 years.

Glenfarclas 9 Years Oloroso Sherry Cask is bottled at 44.1% ABV, an unusual alcohol content, but selected by the Master Distiller as the most optimal for this particular whisky.

Tasting Notes

Nose: the sweet sherry cask influence is unmistakable - fruity aromas of ripe grapes in harmonious balance with spicy tones of cardamom and cinnamon
Palate: soft and round in the taste with strong notes of soft vanilla and roasted nuts, plus juicy tones of dried figs and dates - above all the sweet sherry
Finish: medium finish - the sherry is now very present, with slight hints of nuts and oak
