La Destilería Bowmore es una de las mas antiguas de Escocia, ha permanecido en las orillas del Lago Indaal en la Isla Hebridean de Islay desde 1779 y allí nació Bowmore Darkest.
Bowmore Darkest es una edición descatalogada de Bowmore, actualmente disponible en 15 años, pero esta edición aún guarda muchos consumidores fieles que a su pesar ya no pueden encontrarlo en el mercado.
