Wine El Nido 2022

El Nido is a unique wine for wide-minded palates, sophisticated and with memories to meditate on its extraordinary richness and flavour, subtle, balanced and of portentous elegance.

From the concentrated and penetrating fruit of Cabernet Sauvignon, herbaceous tones and a hint of spice emerge, bringing the smell of mountains and brambles to the varietal combinations of Clio and El Nido, both combined with Monastrell.

El Nido is a blend of the Cabernet Sauvignon (70%) and Monastrell (30%) varieties. The grapes come from a small 12-hectare Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard and 32 hectares of Monastrell vineyards, very old vineyards that have a very low yield of high quality grapes.
These are vineyards planted around the winery, in the Aragona Valley, with many stones on the surface. At a depth of 30-40 centimetres we find a layer of limestone, and below this a very sandy soil up to where the roots reach in search of nutrients.

The grapes are harvested by hand and transported to the winery in small boxes that prevent the grapes from breaking prematurely. Once in the winery, the grapes are subjected to a selection process.

It goes through a maceration process and then ferments in small stainless steel tanks and barrels. The malolactic fermentation takes place in new French and American oak barrels, where it will age for 24 months.
