Cooperativa Valenciana Virgen Pobre de Xaló an emblematic winery in wines and liquors (white mistela, red and vermouth) of high quality.
Our distinguised an cared for production is obtained thanks to blending the experience of craftmanship, treasured for centuaries, and the most advanced modern tecnology. This is what makes the “Virgen Pobre “ Valencian Cooperative Society an emblematic wine producer, well known throughout the region for its top quality wines and liquors (white and red “Mistelas” and Vermouths).
The building itself was constructed in the early sixties and is known locally as the “Bodega” of Jalon. Its original purpose was for storing the equipment that belonged to the first members of the society; presses, wine deposits, wooden oak barrils etc. It was the place where they combined their wisdom and know how as well as their most cared for old wines called “Fondellol”.
As the years have passed the “Bodega” has adapted to new tecnology and from those first wines and “Mistelas” (sweet liquors), which were sold exclusively in bulk,we have passed to the bottling of top quality wines, which you will be able to sample in our establishment.
Duquesa de la Vall Crianza
The elaboration of this wine begins with grapes with a degree of maturity apt for their subsequent ageing in American and French oak barrels. It is a balanced crianza wine, aromatic and silky, with perfect equilibrium.

| Vintage | 2018 | Tasting Notes | Appearance: A clean and transparent wine, brilliant and pleasing to the eye. With intense colouring of the eye. Cherry red with slight variation towards still cool tones (impacted blues), which denote its freshness and youth in spite of it being a crianza wine. Nose: Of medium high aromatic intensity. In a still glass the mostly tertiary aromas of American barrel, vanillas, coconut and light roasts are highlighted. Nevertheless, the presence of mature fruit supporting the light predominance of a tertiary aroma are noted. In a swirled glass the aromas which appeared in a still glass are intensified, if anything the fruit aromas become more important, which makes the final ensemble more harmonious. Palate: Of medium and well structured palate, somewhat hard because of its youth, although it is true that the tannins will evolve in an adequate manner over the next few months guaranteeing good conservation in the bottle. Balanced in acidity and fruit weight. A slightly bitter and pleasant final aftertaste, although a little short. Not very intense retronasal, but pleasant. | | Package | Bottle | | Product Dimensions | 34 x 7 x 7 cm | | Volumetric Weight | 1.60 | | Storage Instructions | Cool and dry conditions | | Manufacturer/Producer | Bodegas Xaló | | Country Produced in | Spain | | Since | Friday 09 March, 2018 | |
