On the Isle of Islay in Scotland, the well-known Bruichladdich distillery has recovered an old copper still affectionately known as "Ugly Betty" to distil one of the purest and most complex gins on the market with a limited production of 15,000 bottles, which has been christened "Botanist" due to its high level of botanicals.

The nose is fine and clean, with aromas of sea salt (not at all in an Islay) and a sweet juniper berry finish.The palate is fine and dry, with persistent bitterness and hints of pepper, spice, lemon peel and pear. Creamy and clean texture.
