Macallan Classic Cut is a series of annual expressions that pays tribute to The Macallan's ongoing commitment to the pursuit of the sublime, leading it to create whiskies of unique character.

CLASSIC CUT - 2022 Edition

Matured in a unique combination of casks with two different types of wood, this special single malt exudes flavours of European and American oak, united to produce a unique tasting experience.

With a distinctive grapefruit flavour, this whisky highlights a wide range and complexity of flavours. The two types of wood complement and balance each other beautifully and offer an experiential journey through flavour, aroma, colour, and texture.

A vibrant Single Malt

The exceptional whisky offers a sweet lightness brought by the ex-bourbon oak casks, intertwined with the depth and complexity created by The Macallan’s signature sherry-seasoned oak casks. It has a higher strength ABV of 52.5%, selected by the Whisky Maker as the optimum level to bring forth the full character of the single malt and reveal the dominant notes of vanilla, sweet orange and fresh vibrant oak.

The Macallan Whisky Maker, Polly Logan used her skill and experience to craft the expression using a combination of sherry seasoned European oak casks and ex-bourbon American oak casks to create a single malt with a unique flavour and character.
