Kilbeggan is an Irish blended with an elegant, sweet and malty blend.

Kilbeggan Distillery was brought back to life by John Teeling and Cooley Distillery in 2007. However, this expression has been distilled at Cooley Distillery and then matured at the Kilbeggan Distillery facility as the stills began distilling from 2014. Kilbeggan is named after the existing bottlings, the one we are introducing now and the 18 year old Distillery Reserve Malt.

In 2011, Beam Inc. bought Cooley and since then they have concentrated on the main range, with a special interest in the Kilbeggan blend. At the end of 2013, Suntory bought Beam. The Teelings, on the other hand, have started a new company, Teeling Whiskey Company.

John Teeling acquired the Ceimici Teo distillery in 1987 and renamed it Cooley. Cooley was the first whisky distillery to be established in Ireland for over a century, and it was not long before the owners began to acquire famous brands and distilleries that had become dormant. Tyrconnell and Kilbeggan were among them. During the 1990s, Cooley Distillery launched Connemara, Ireland's only peat whisky.

Kilbeggan is a traditionally made Irish whiskey, but unlike most Irish whiskies which are distilled three times, it has been distilled twice only. A blend of malt and grain, this whisky has been aged in ex-Bourbon casks for a period of at least 3 years. Kilbeggan is the oldest licensed Irish distillery in existence, starting in 1757.
