Tawny Port Churchill’s 20 Years Old: a 20-year-old Tawny Port
Tawny Port Churchill’s 20 Years Old is a Port wine with extended ageing. It spends 20 years in small oak casks, smoothing out the tannins and revealing layers of complexity. It marries tradition with innovation from Churchill’s Port, founded in 1981 in Porto by John Graham.
The oxidative ageing imparts richness and suppleness, with notes of dried fruit, toffee and caramel. Perfect as a dessert wine or as a host’s signature pour.
Ageing process
Oxidative ageing in open barrels encourages the concentration of aromas. Each cask imparts a gentle influx of oxygen over time, developing amber tones and golden highlights.
The traditional method delivers a persistent, elegant finish.
