In the 1920s, the Domecq brothers that owned the business focused the company towards the production of wine and brandies. Animated by the opportunity in the brandy market, they decided to bring out the old stills stored in their father's collection to start producing a new type of brandy.
CARLOS I was born from this venture, a great still reserve that represents the best of Dominican brandies. Its official distribution was implemented in 1927.
Brandy Carlos I is a distilled drink, resulting from a mix of selected brandy reserves aged in white oak barrels. Although this drink is the product of three different types of distillation (in columns, stills and spirit columns), it is predominantly created in stills.
