More information Bunnahabhain Cruach Mhona 1 Liter (Islay) Whisky
The gentle taste of Bunnahabhain is due partly to the lightly peated malted barley used in its creation as well as the pure spring waters of the Margadale River.
The Bunnahabhain Distillery (pronounced Boon-a-havn and meaning rivermouth in Gaelic) was built in 1881 on the north-eastern tip of the enchanting isle of Islay. It was incorporated in 1882 by the Islay Distillery Co. and then later merged with Wm. Grant & Co. to form Highland Distillers. Burn Stewart Distillers Ltd. acquired Bunnahabhain and the distillery in 2003 along with Black Bottle.

Burn Stewart Distillers Ltd. carried out extensive research amongst its consumers and ultimately decided to evolve and update the look of the brand. A “journey of discovery” lies at the heart of the brand. It encompasses a distinguished heritage, a remote idyllic environment whose geography and history are entwined with hardy seafaring lore and, above all, a liquid with a unique, surprisingly gentle and delicate taste profile.
The gentle taste of Bunnahabhain is due partly to the lightly peated malted barley used in its creation as well as the pure spring waters of the Margadale River, trapped underground away from the peaty moorlands. The nose offers a fresh and aromatic experience, with a subtle whiff of smoke floating through the air. The taste starts with a light fruit and nut, appeal that leads to a spectacular malty sweetness, finishing into a beautifully rich, full-bodied, lingering experience.
 The Distillery
Cruach Mhona is gaelic for a pile of drying peat bricks and follows on from Toiteach (gaelic for smoky) as a peaty offering from Bunnahabhain. Although Islay is famed for its peat, Bunnahabhain's spirit is unpeated (this being an exception that proves the rule)."
