Marqués de Murrieta is more than a brand in the international market; it is century-old wisdom expressed in one of Spain's most renowned wines.
Tangible proof of elegance, balance and constancy characteristic of the Marques de Murrieta Winery and its surrounding vineyards situated in the Ygay Estate, it is a red reserva wine with a balanced ageing of two years in new and partly new American oak barrels and a year and a half in bottle.

Own vineyards
Grapes are sourced from our Ygay Estate: 300 hectares of vineyards surrounding the winery in the southernmost point of Rioja Alta. Altitude ranges from 320 to 485 meters above sea level.
Manual Harvest: September, 13th to 29th.
Winemaking
Grapes are first de-stemmed and then fermented in stainless steel tanks for 8 days at controlled temperature in constant skin contact. During fermentation, pumping over and punching down operations are regularly carried out. These processes ensure both effective and gentle colour and aroma extraction.
Afterwards, the solid parts of the grapes were pressed in vertical presses with double screws.
Serving suggestions
We recommend decanting the wine 20 minutes before serving. Recommended serving temperature: 16º - 18º C (60º - 65º F).

Tasting Notes
Marqués de Murrieta is above all an excellent, harmonious wine, with a fragrant nose and a silky mouthfeel.
Made from the varieties: Tempranillo, Graciano, Mazuelo and Garnacha, it is a constant example of the wine that best defines the winery's style: elegance, balance and regularity. Bright cherry, on the nose it offers aromas of refined fruit that combine perfectly with floral, balsamic and spicy notes and touches of oak precisely measured by expert hands.
Its mouth is juicy and rich, with elegance and slightly toasted. Its tannins go unnoticed thanks to its perfect integration with the fruit and a very pleasant acidity that gives it a long life.
