After Jameson's success in maturing whiskey in barrels that had contained stout, they set themselves a new challenge: to try their hand at IPA beer.
They loaned several barrels to their neighbours at Eight Degrees Brewing to brew an IPA flavoured with Jameson, and the beer-soaked barrels returned to the distillery full of crisp new hop notes.
The casks were refilled with Jameson Whiskey and the waiting began.
The characteristic smoothness of Jameson came through first as the result was tasted, but the rubbing with the IPA had introduced light hints of hops, fresh citrus and floral notes.
