More information Greign 20 years Single Grain Whisky
Greign 20 Years Old is a single grain Scotch whisky made by Stephanie Macleod.
Behind this "Greign 20 Year Old" is the Glasgow-based "Greign Company", part of the "John Dewar & Sons Ltd." of the "Bacardi" drinks group.
This 20 year old single grain whisky was created by the master blender of the Aberfeldy distillery and one of the few highly successful women in the industry, Stephanie Macleod.
Greign 20 Year Old was presumably distilled at Bacardi's Macduff distillery in Banff in the Highlands.
The bottling is a tribute to the century-old staple grain itself.
Greign 20 years, aged in a blend of freshly toasted ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry casks and bottled at 40% alcohol by volume.
Tasting Notes
Bright honey-gold in colour, the nose is both fruity and fresh, with ripe apples and fresh citrus, woody, and sherry notes in the background, with a fine vanilla note on top.
On the palate, it is smooth and sweet, finely fruity with vanilla and a slight spiciness that releases this 20 year old Greign Single Grain Whisky on a light, fruity and spicy finish, with a very subtle bitter note on the finish.
