More information Cohiba Cognac Martell Cognac

Cuba is an island, Cuba is a treasure, a sublime "puro" born from the magic of its exceptional land and the genius of its creator, Don Eduardo Rivera.

In 1963, Fidel Castro adopted this cigar for his personal consumption, and three years later, it was given the brand name “Cohiba”. This was the word the indigenous people used to refer to tobacco before the arrival of Christopher Columbus.

Cohiba cigars only began to be sold worldwide in 1982. Since then, the circle of enthusiasts has continued to grow. Today, no other Habano enjoys such a level of excellence and reputation. It only lacked a soul mate. Now, it has found one.

The sap that runs through the vines of Grande Champagne is not yet Cognac.

Cohiba Cognac

Only the alchemy of time and the passion of men will transform it into pure gold. In 1819, Alexander Bisquit, a young man barely 20 years old, created his first distillery.

Two centuries later, Bisquit has carved a path in the great history of Cognac. A truth of the land, the memory of knowledge, the perfection of an art.

The owner of the cellars, its stills and barrels, produces the Lignères estate’s pure masterpieces. It takes up to 50 years to extract the most noble of elixirs.

Cohiba Cognac Extra

Each of these Grande Champagne eaux-de-vie was meticulously selected by Jacques Rouvière, Master Cellar of the Bisquit House, along with his Cuban associate Habanos. This exceptional attention ensures the perfect pairing with Cohiba cigars and reserves the most exclusive emotions for the finest palates.

"I created Cohiba Extra Cognac from a selection of our finest barrels—exceptional Grande Champagnes aged between 40 and 50 years. Its aromas of orange, almonds, and hazelnuts, its flavors of plum, vanilla, and rancio, and its wild, distinguished, and bold character make it the perfect companion for a fine Habano. As the tasting progresses, a wonderful harmony emerges between the two, where neither seeks to dominate the other... A perfect alliance, a shared delight."
Jacques Rouvière, Master Cellar

Pairing with the Habano

They seem made for each other. The harmony is subtle and refreshing, with great balance on the palate.
Both elements complement and enrich each other, creating a delightful serenity that captivates and enchants the senses.

Tasting Notes

Colour: Amber with golden reflections and mahogany undertones.

Nose: A beautifully complex yet subtle nose, both intense and smooth at the same time. Notes of almond, hazelnut, honey, forest aromas, chestnut, vanilla… Delightfully rancio.

Palate: The entry is straightforward but without aggressiveness, with a pleasant hint of bitterness. The eau-de-vie perfectly balances delicacy and strength. Elegant, fresh, and smooth. Its texture, both dense and light, makes it a harmonious and well-balanced spirit
