Peat's Beast is a heavily peated malt whisky, with a phenol level of 35 ppm (parts per million). It comes from a mysterious distillery in Speyside, Scotland. Matured in bourbon casks, bottled by an independent bottler, Fox Fitzgerald.
Peat's Beast has been created with a great deal of investment in it. The famous Richard "The Nose" Paterson has collaborated on the project and the top notes you can find on the tab have been created by him. The label's beast was illustrated by Brazilian Doug Alves (famous for his work for MTV, Honda and UNICEF). Peat's Beast is a blend of strong smoke and peat with some floral smoothness and juicy sweetness. Emphasizing the hard peat side, it's like Beauty and the Beast. The beautiful part of this whisky is imprisoned by the beast.

Tasting Notes
Taste: Strong and bold with plenty of backbone and structure as this great monster unfolds its fiery fangs on your palate. This is not for the faint-hearted. Take a generous mouthful with a biting wind blowing furiously in your face. Hold it long in your mouth allow the thick tar, peat smoke and creamy liquorice to penetrate every part of your tongue. Time will tame it.
Colour: Straw yellow with glittering highlights
Nose: A rugged fusion of sea spray, bonfire smoke, damp earth and spicy cinnamon immediately arouses the senses.
These powerful aromas of peat moss and wet grass must be fully respected before seductive notes of crushed pear, apple and freshly baked bread provide the perfect finish to this memorable melody.
