Rum Mamajuana Canamú (República Dominicana)

Canamú Mamajuana is a rum originating from the Dominican Republic.

For over 800 years, it has been prepared through a maceration process, adding rum and honey to a combination of endemic herbs, leaves, and spices. It is sweet with hints of honey. This rum is marketed as an aphrodisiac for its energizing and stimulating properties.

There is an important difference between traditional mamajuana and Canamú mamajuana, and that is while both are prepared with a mixture of roots and leaves, known as "mamajuana de palos," the difference between the two is that Canamú mamajuana is a liquor filtered and bottled after undergoing the maceration process.
