Located in the Burgos town of Haza, in the heart of the Ribera del Duero D.O. and overlooking the vineyard, this winery belongs to García Carrión. The impressive building is located in a historic and strategic enclave, as it was once an important fortress belonging to Juana de Haza, a noblewoman of Castile, who began to plant vineyards at the foot of her castle-fortress in the 12th century. The vineyards began to spread rapidly and their fame grew in all the territories due to their extraordinary quality.
Today it is a Castilian-style building, with a surface area of 20,000 m2 that houses all the winery's facilities. Every detail has been taken care of in the design, both in the choice of materials -all of them from the surrounding area- and in the layout of all the rooms surrounding a large central courtyard. Viña Arnáiz is surrounded by 92 hectares of its own vineyards that produce the "Tinta del país", Cabernet sauvignon and Merlot grapes used for the production of the wines with D.O. Ribera del Duero.
