Heißer Wikinger Met!: Directly from the Vikings near Haithabu

All varieties of Viking honey wine Viking Met, as well as Viking honey liqueur Nydam, come directly from the central region of the Viking land, around the historic Viking settlement of Haithabu in northern Schleswig-Holstein.

The settlement, founded around the year 770, was one of the main centers of long-distance trade between Scandinavia, the North Sea region, and all of Western Europe.

The favorable location of Haithabu at the end of the Baltic Sea fjord allowed the Vikings to sail the Baltic Sea and reach navigable rivers to the North Sea through a narrow land bridge (Schleswigsche Enge).

Products from all over the known world could be traded in Haithabu, including the famous mead.

Viking mead comes exactly from this region: enjoying mead couldn't be more authentic!
