Ernest Hemingway had many passions, but none like his sailboat "Pilar." In tribute, his descendants have chosen to name one of his favorite drinks "Papa" in memory of Ernest and "Pilar" to remember his beloved sailboat.
Under the name "Papa's Pilar," the family creates unique and special rums, just like Ernest Hemingway was.
Papa's Pilar is made with rums from Florida, Panama, the Dominican Republic, Venezuela, and Barbados, all aged in selected barrels that have contained Bourbon, Port, and Sherry, and in this version, additionally: Rye Whiskey.
With Papa's Pilar Rye Finished Whiskey Barrels, the family introduces a limited edition to their product line, Rum finished in barrels that have held Rye Whiskey.
The extraordinary rum Papa's Pilar is finished in highly charred American white oak barrels, which have contained rye whiskey, producing a long-lasting warm rum with slight notes of cocoa and caramel.
