Tequila Gran Patrón Burdeos, an exclusive edition finished in French wine casks

Tequila Gran Patrón Burdeos is one of the most exclusive and carefully crafted expressions within the world of premium tequila. Produced in very limited quantities, it is designed for those seeking depth, smoothness and a profile clearly shaped by oak and time.

At Licorea, we consider this tequila a truly distinctive piece within its category. Not only because of its production process, but also due to the unusual use of Bordeaux wine casks, which lend an elegant and unmistakable character rarely found in other tequilas.

Blue agave from the Highlands of Jalisco

Gran Patrón Burdeos is made exclusively from 100% Weber blue agave, grown in the Highlands of Jalisco. This region is renowned for producing high-quality agaves with softer, more aromatic profiles, ideal for long-aged tequilas.

Agave selection is rigorous and forms part of Patrón’s commitment to excellence. Only the finest agaves are chosen for this edition, ensuring a clean and well-structured base from the very beginning.

Double distillation and triple cask maturation

After fermentation, the tequila is double distilled to obtain a pure and balanced spirit. From there, it enters a particularly complex ageing process that defines the character of Gran Patrón Burdeos.

It first matures in used American oak barrels, where it gains smoothness and roundness. It is then transferred to new French oak barrels, which add structure, refined spice and depth.

The process concludes in vintage Bordeaux wine casks. This final finish is responsible for its deep amber colour and a more creamy, elegant aromatic profile, with well-integrated vinous nuances.

How to enjoy Tequila Gran Patrón Burdeos

This tequila is best enjoyed neat, served in a suitable glass at room temperature. This allows the layers contributed by the different casks and the Bordeaux wine finish to be fully appreciated.

No accompaniments or mixing are required. It is an expression intended for quiet moments, slow tastings or special celebrations where the spirit takes centre stage.

Thanks to its smooth and elegant profile, it is ideal for experienced enthusiasts and collectors seeking a distinctive high-end tequila experience.

A jewel within ultra-premium tequila

Within the category of limited-edition aged tequila, Gran Patrón Burdeos holds a very special place. Its triple maturation process and wine cask finish make it a truly unique reference.

At Licorea, we recommend it to those who value complexity, smoothness and spirits crafted without haste, where every decision shapes the final result.

A tequila that brings together origin, technique and oak to deliver a deep, elegant and clearly differentiated experience.
