El Seque is a project from Juan Carlos Lopez, the founder of Rioja’s world-renowned Artadi estate. Located in the Alicante D.O., on the southeastern shoreline of Spain, the focus is on the Monastrell varietal, which thrives in the Mediterranean climate. Composed of 80% Monastrell, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Syrah, this aromatic red displays fragrant notes of violets, raspberry, and cherry, which also appear on the palate. Vibrant and fruit-forward with fine tannins, this wine will pair well with grilled pork or beef.
Powerful balsamic notes, mature fruit, unctuous: a fleshy wine that satisfies the identity of the Monastrell variety from the old vineyards of El Sequé.
