In 1970 the construction of the Antioquia Liquor Factory was finished and on April 13th of the same year the new plant was inaugurated.
The Antioquia Liquor Factory is considered the distillery in Colombia. Its production systems, the quality of its products, the success of its business leaders and its volume of sales all contribute to making this company one of the best in Colombia.
In 1493 Columbus, on his second voyage to the New World, he brought the aborigines sugarcane, honey and a bittersweet liquid that they called guarapo.
Aguardiente Antioqueño is a dry liquor obtained with extra pure alcohol from the by products of the molasses, virgin honey and sugar, with its traditional flavour of anise essence.
It is the traditional drink of Colombia, closely linked to the regional festivals and the customs of the Colombian people, especially in Antioquia where the farmers incorporate it into their culture.
It is a drink that can be enjoyed solo, accompanied with fruits or simply with water.
