The distillery's latest addition, Ballantine's 10 American Barrel, has been aged for 10 years and finished in bourbon casks, combining the depth of Scotch with the sweetness of bourbon to give you the best of both worlds. A whisky with all the character of Ballantine's, but with an added hint of apple and caramel thanks to the bourbon cask finish.
A whisky that has moved on a little, Ballantine's 10 Americana Barrel has absorbed the richness of another culture and become sweeter for it. This new addition to the Ballantine's family remains true to its DNA with the characteristic notes of red apple, heather honey and vanilla, but with a different twist, perfect for when you want to go a little further while still enjoying Ballantine's.

Our favourite way to enjoy this new Ballantine's is in an Old Fashioned, with a couple of dashes of orange bitters to complement the sweet notes of the whisky. But we also know it's great on its own or on the rocks, or with a premium cola for extra refreshment.
Recipe for how to make an Old Fashioned with Ballantine's 10 American Barrel.
Ingredients: 5 Cl of Ballantine's 10 American Barrel, 1 brown sugar cube, 4 shots of orange bitters, orange peel for garnish.
Step 1. Add the sugar cube to a glass and soak it in the bitter.
Step 2. Mix to a paste
Step 3. Add ice cubes, pour Ballantine's 10 American Barrel on top and stir for a couple of minutes.
Step 4. Add the orange peel for garnish and a couple more ice cubes if necessary.
Step 5. Enjoy!
There's no excuse to try the new Ballantine's, whether in a cocktail, neat or mixed.
