Alicante Crianza Red Wine
Tarima Hill is 100% old-vine Mourvèdre from a vineyard planted between 1935 and 1970, whose vines are largely ungrafted. It was aged 14 months in French oak. This is a beautifully balanced wine revealing lots of blueberry liqueur, dark raspberries, cherries, a chalky minerality, full body, a big, substantial mouthfeel, and a meaty texture.
The Tarima vineyards are situated between the mountain ranges of Sierra de Salinas, Sierra de L’Altet and Sierra de la Sima. The vineyards grow at an elevation ranging between 600-750 m (1,928-2,460 ft.) above sea level. The grapes for this wine come from 20 ha. (49.4 acres) of vineyards planted between 1970 and 1960 on chalky soils with very low yields. All vines are pruned in the vaso system which is an all-natural, almost organic process, with no irrigation.
