More information Sotol Mesteño Reposado Tequila
The sotol is elaborated from a wild agave plant that grows in the Chihuahua desert, in the North of Mexico.
The farm Tabalaopa was built in 1881, in the city Delicias, in the state Chihuahua, where different liquors started to be distilled in a traditional way. The great value of the quality of this farm has been appreciated across Mexico.
In 1978, Vinomex, the current producer, is set in this farm and continue creating the traditional Sotol, and also a new generation of Mexican liquors.
Mesteño is the name of the wild horse that is born and die as a free being in the large plains of the North.
The sotol is elaborated from a wild agave plant that grows in the Chihuahua desert, in the North of Mexico. It takes to this plant 15 years to ripen.
It is boiled during 72 hours in an oven that works with steam injection. It is fermented with Champagne yeasts, and it is subjected to a double distillation.
