More information Rioja Bordón Crianza 2019 Wine
Rioja Bordón has its own hallmark, unmistakable, it is the real paradigm of Rioja's taste
The birth of Bodegas Franco-Españolas is due, indirectly, to one of the unhappiest incidents in the wine history of France.
A phylloxera plague in the second half of the 19th century almost completely ruined the French vineyards. Because of this, the Bordeaux wine makers -region well known for it's high quality vineyards and tradition in the elaboration of worldwide prestigious wines, decided to leave the country. They came to Spain in search of the best soil and climate, where they could continue to grow and age the wines which had brought them such fame.

Production
From a winery with a history going back 100 years comes an extremely delicious and quite modern style Rioja.
This Crianza from the Bodegas Franco Espanolas is a blend of 80% Tempranillo and 20% Garnacha with rich flavours and a compelling spiciness. The grapes are fermented in traditional wooden vats and must be stirred to bring out color and intensity. The fermented wine is then aged for 18 months in New American white oak barrels and then an additional 6 months in bottle as required by D.O. guidelines.
