Licorea › Gin › Suntory › Roku Gin (Japan) › Roku Gin (Japan) Reviews |
It is only in the last few years that I have returned to gin as a preferred spirit. My youth was peppered with the likes of Gordon\'s, Cork Dry Gin, Beefeater and the likes before turning to tequila.
On returning to gin I developed a taste for the better batch produce and with the likes of Hendricks, Dingle, Drumshambo Gunpowder gins I found a world of highly satisfying spirits.
My daughter had recently been in Japan and was visiting, so I decided to get hold of some Roku gin, this was a good decision as the bouquet and taste of this gin is very delicate due to the botanical used to bring it to market. You have to be very careful of your choice of tonic water for this gin as those that have a tendency to have too much sugar content kill it. Fever Tree is a good choice as, believe it or not, my local supermarket\'s own brand tonic water! Those who prefer to use fruit juices with spirits beware, you will lose the delicateness of this gin and you would be as well as buying Gordon\'s instead of a beautifully crafted gin that deserves respect.
