Allicante Crianza Red Wine
Pasión de Monastrell is a vibrant wine with aromas of red and black fruit such as strawberries and raspberries. Its 6 months resting in oak barrels brings light touches of toast from the barrel.
The work of previous years comes to fruition in the form of new wines. April 2014 saw the birth of the latest member of the Pasión family, the fruit of our work in Jumilla, Pasión de Monastrell, a wine under the Alicante DO.
We like to look back to see where we come from and thank the previous generations of our family for their effort, work and courage. Those are our foundations and part of their vision remains with us. Respect for the land on which we are based, care for the vines, organic farming and a commitment to native varietals mark our work and are the guide with which we live in the present and look to the future.
Pasión de Monastrell is a vibrant wine with aromas of red and black fruit such as strawberries and raspberries. Its 6 months resting in oak barrels brings light touches of toast from the barrel. Perfect if you want to enjoy a wine with good acidity, round, tasty and with a great presence of fruit.
Being born in a land where cultivation is almost a miracle, generates a very specific personality. This is the case with Pasión de Monastrell and the vineyards that struggle to make each harvest in an extreme climate, in the border area between Alicante and Jumilla.
Rainfall is scarce, the soil is poor and stony. Temperatures are very low in the winter and very hot in the summer. Each vintage is a new event and all the strength that our 50 year old vineyard still preserves, is concentrated in every single grape.
It would be a 'crime' not to make a great wine with this raw material, so we give everything in the winemaking process so that the result is 10. Pasión de Monastrell undergoes malolactic fermentation in second-fill French oak barrels, where we leave it to rest for six months of ageing.
Pasión de Monastrell is a regular in the Peñín Guide, where it has never dropped below 90 points.
Grown in an extreme area, with dry winters and hot summers.Made with grapes from old vines over 50 years old.Aged for six months in second-fill French oak barrels.
