More information Opthimus Reserve 18 Years (Dominican Republic) Rum
Arrived at Cuba at the end of the 18th century, Don Juanillo Oliver created a plantation of tobacco then sugar cane.
His descendants specialized in the distillation of the rum by 1870. During the revolution of 1959, most of the members of the family Oliver decided to leave the island. In the middle of the 80s, one of them was able to return to Cuba, where he discovered documents relative to the elaboration of the rum by his ancestors. The Oliver family decided to take up with this tradition and settled in Santo Domingo, the climate and the grounds being similar to those of their island of origin there. The Oliver family develops a range of Cuban traditional rums (Cubaney) and other one of rums (Ophtimus, raised in solera). -
