More information Monkey Shoulder Smokey Monkey (Speyside) Whisky
Monkey Shoulder Smokey Monkey is created to add a smoky touch to the classic cocktail.
At Monkey Shoulder you can only find Single Malt from the top three Speyside distilleries. This triple malt blend has attracted the attention of the country's leading bartenders for its smooth and flavourful qualities, making it ideal for blending, cocktails and for drinking as another malt whisky in the traditional way.
With roots in the malt whisky tradition, Monkey Shoulder is inspired by and made in honour of the William Grant Malt Men, who are one of the few remaining who malt the barley by hand with a "Sheil" (wooden spade). "Monkey Shoulder" was a nickname given to a temporary shoulder injury that whisky workers sometimes had many years ago as a result of turning the grain during the barley malting process. Moderate systems and practices no longer produce this injury.
Monkey Shoulder Smokey Monkey is created to add a smoky touch to the classic cocktail, Smokey Monkey is a blend of malt whiskies, one of which is a high strength. Matured in ex-bourbon casks, the palate offers notes of sweet vanilla, hot black pepper and bright citrus, with waves of earthy peat smoke building up in the background.
