More information Matusalem Reserve 23 Years Rum
The Spanish brothers Benjamín and Eduardo Camp, along with a third partner, Evaristo Álvarez, embarked on a fascinating adventure: To create the smoothest and highest quality rum ever tasted.
They opened a rum distillery inspired by the production and aging process of brandies and cognacs and created a secret formula, carefully guarded, that was passed down from generation to generation.
Thus, Ron Matusalem was born in Santiago de Cuba. A name that, almost 140 years later, remains globally known as a synonym of quality and excellence.
At the end of the 19th century, Ron Matusalem had forever changed the world of rum.
The liquor of the past is replaced by a smooth, refined drink that continues to develop along with a deep sense of cultural identity.
Ron Matusalem won the first of many international awards that it has accumulated throughout its history. It received the highest honors in 1881, 1904, and 1911, and works with the goal of achieving the best recognition in the 20th and 21st centuries.
Cuba gained its independence in 1898. Despite the Spanish-American War, the company continued to grow.
