Matarromera Reserve comes from the vineyards that the winery owns in Olivares de Duero.
Bodega Matarromera is one of the most important wineries in Ribera del Duero. Created by prestigious winemaker Carlos Moro in 1988, the success of Matarromera stems from the top quality of their wines developed in the best growing areas.
The winery is partially subterranean, built into the northern hillsides of the Duero Valley, with beautiful views of Valbuena de Duero in Valladolid. Bodega Matarromera utilizes the most current technology to achieve the highest quality winemaking, with a maximum capacity of 650,000 liters. The principal variety is Tinta del País, with smaller plantings of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The vineyards are trellised and bush, and the harvest is hand-picked in 20-kilogram boxes.
